The 2008 edition of DSF is all set to take thousands of enthusiasts through a three-day holistic sojourn as Swami Ramdev conducts the Eurostar yoga camp. The yoga camp will be conducted at the Airport Expo Dubai, between 6.00 am and 8.30 am, from 25 to 27 January, 2008. The yoga exponent has recently conducted highly successful workshops in the US, Britain, East Africa and Canada.
More than 8000 people from across the Middle East region are expected to attend the workshop that will focus on yogic postures with the breathing techniques called Pranayama, and meditation. According to Swami Ramdev, the human body is composed of five elements- space of vacuum, air, fire, water and earth. Air is the most important, as it is the life force that keeps the body alive. This air, when inhaled during breathing, is called Prana. Pranayama includes the techniques that control this life force.
Swami Ramdev puts equal emphasis on mediation and believes that, through Pranayama and meditation, we attain a transcendental state of consciousness where the mind is free from thoughts or impressions. In this state, our nervous system releases good hormones which help to reduce stress and stress related conditions like hypertension, depression, heart diseases, hormonal imbalances etc.
Yousif Mubarak, DSF Events, Operations, and Logistics Director said, ‘Playing host to a yoga camp such as this only indicates the diverse kind of activities within every DSF edition. Our aim during every DSF is to present events and activities of the highest quality, and having a world renowned expert like Swami Ramdev for the DSF 2008-Eurostar yoga camp only enhances the quality element.
